About Me

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Here are some things about me that might interest you :)

 10. I like countdowns. They're very exciting.

 9. I'm going in to my 10th year of teaching, which feels incredible! I started out teaching 5th grade for three years and then changed schools and grade levels. I've been teaching 2nd grade ever since.

8. I teach at the most wonderful, loving, incredible school ever. It's a lovely little Catholic school nestled in the hills of a small town right outside of North Pasadena. We call it our "little slice of Heaven."

7. In my spare time (ha! ha!), I love to read!! I think there's something wrong with me, though, because some of my favorite books are thrillers. I especially love any and everything Gillian Flynn.

 6. I have this problem. Maybe some of you can relate. I am addicted to Real Housewives. Don't be all, like, uncool.

5. I am a germaphobe. I don't kid when I say that I'm terrified of germs. Clearly, teaching is not the profession for someone with my condition. I've found myself exposed to all sorts of bodily fluids. I have an entire cabinet full of heavy duty cleaning supplies, a ready to go "puke kit," and lice killer spray (not germy-related, but still). I always say there's nothing like the fresh smell of Lysol wafting from my room on an early winter's morn.

4. We love the Dodgers! Think blue! I love LA!

3. I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years, and even swam for a short time in college. I hung up my cap and goggles in the winter of 2002 when my #1 fan went to Heaven.

2. On February 5, 2010 and April 26, 2014, God gave me the two best gifts I could ever receive, my children Emily and James. Being a mother is the most challenging and the most rewarding job anybody could ever have, and I wouldn't change it for all the money in the world!

1. I met my husband on move-in day on our first day of college. We started dating a few days after that, got engaged senior year, married a year after we graduated, and the rest is (as they say) history! We are graduates of the greatest university out there -- the University of Southern California -- Fight on!! (Please do not call us Southern Cal. We are not affiliated with that other school up north.) He is my very best friend, my other half, my rock. In our thirteen years together, we've spent very little time apart, and we haven't gotten sick of each other yet!
